Good evening!

If someone prepared a feast for you today, how do you show your appreciation?

A hug and a simple thank you for getting up at 5:15 a.m. while you’re enjoying a four-day weekend or at least preparing to goof off on Friday?

Use your imagination.

“I’m responding to ‘cat lover’s’ plea on finding new homes for all of her cats except two because her husband is tired of them.

“I don’t know the full story, but from the way it sounds he is the one who would be looking for a new home!”

— from another cat lover

“All but two” sounds like a colony.

And if no one will answer her plea, what does that say about the rest of us?

“Luckily, I found this old email before I deleted.

“I forgot to post this on Facebook. It’s about schools applying for grants for gardens. Deadline is Dec 5 to apply, but, hopefully, this info will be useful to someone.”

More from Cindi:

“Funny how my comment about the Dakota Pipeline going through the Indian Burial grounds got legs.

“For all your readers. I was one of the individuals that stripped the topsoil and knocked down trees, etc., on what was THOUGHT to be a couple different locations of the Indian Burial grounds.

“Funny, I don’t remember all these terrible things happening to our crew. However, I will say we did have an inspector or engineer or someone (an elderly gentleman) that always sat in his truck found dead in his vehicle.

“He might be the aorta aneurysm that was referred to. Another operator did get very sick while running a pan in a totally other section. The guy refused to go home and they finally forced him to leave the job site as he refused medical treatment. He drove home and his wife, a nurse, forced him to go to the hospital. It was a heart attack. He made a full recovery and I ran into him on another job a couple years later.

“When the time came, I was also part of the paving crew. While I was there paving, we had no accidents. Winzinger was the contractor on the job.

“Years later, two of his paving crew were killed when a car came into the work zone and struck them and the back of the paver.(another worker was able to jump out of the way).

“As I said before, it is common, sadly for accidents to happen on job sites. I’ve seen far too many of them over my years of construction work.”

That’s why we’re getting cremated.

Freeholder Jim Quinn lost 20 pounds in 8 days.

“Jim Quinn, what’s your secret?”

“Please consider sponsoring a Millville PAL kid for the holidays.

“For a $20 donation, one kid gets a year of PAL activities. We have no administrative costs or any of that other (crap).

“Every cent goes toward activities for our kids. You can also designate exactly what you want your donation to go for.

“There is no fine print that the money can be used for ‘travel expenses, miscellaneous costs, other expanses’ or any of that other nonsense.

“Our kids are our future. Please help them out.”

— Nancy Williams

No Millville Spirit Parade or fireworks because of lack of interest?

“Yea, that’s what I heard, too, but I can wholeheartedly disagree with that.

“This senior class is one of the most involved groups of kids that I have ever seen. Yes, each year, there is a good portion of the class involved in many, many school activities.

“But, I can tell you that this year, a lot of kids are really involved.

“Take the marching band. There are 40 — FORTY — seniors in the band. Usually there are no more than 20.

“The girls soccer team has 11 seniors. Usually, there are around 6. My daughter and her friends were really looking forward to this event, as was I.

“I can’t believe this was taken away from them, with little warning, either.”

— Newell Branin Jr.

Dedicated community volunteers like Newell are allowed to protest.

Blue-chip baker Jane Uhland came through by delivering a cake to a church where the hungry are being fed.

“Happy Thanksgiving!

“We will be closed today and Friday! We will reopen on Saturday at 6 a.m.

“Have a great Thanksgiving!”

— Verna’s Flightline

Can Millville survive this?

Best testimonial we can give you:

“Took the girls to Bridgeton Amish Market after school.

“They both got a pint of a dessert pudding. They both got a doughnut for today.

“Charlotte tasted and loved pepperoni cheese, so bought her some. Picked up some other goodies and also picked a special treat for Dawn.”

— Amish Market lover

“To all of my friends and customers that have been asking and wondering what is going on with my Rosenhayn store (Poliseno’s):

“I am saddened to say that we will be closing the store the end of this month, Nov. 29, Tuesday will the last day.

“I was oringinally hoping to stay until July, but the monthly rent ($3,600) has made it way too hard to operate a profitable business.

“I would to thank all my customers that have supported this business for over 4 years now and all the new people I have become friends with I thank you all. This was a very hard decision.

“Also to my employees, I can say, I have had a great group of people that have worked with me over the years and thank them for all they have done to make Poliseno’s a nice place for people to come and eat. I Thank You!

“With all that being said, I invite everyone to stop by our newest location on Pearl Street in Bridgeton near the ShopRite to get the same service and food that has been served the past 4 plus years in Rosenhayn.

“Again, thank you EVERYONE for 4 years of such friendly support! If things go well, I might be back not too far away.”

— Mike Everly

Cumberland County will be waiting, Mike!
